Both surgical and minimally invasive methods are available, selected based on the patient’s age, skin condition, and the degree of ptosis (sagging).
Endoscopic Brow Lift
The endoscopic brow lift is the most popular modern technique. Through small incisions in the hairline, an endoscope with a camera is inserted to lift and secure the eyebrows. This allows for a simultaneous forehead and brow lift. Advantages:
- minimally invasive;
- short recovery period;
- no visible scarring.
Best for: patients with moderate drooping and elastic skin. Duration: 1–2 hours. Anesthesia: general or local with sedation.
Classic (Coronal) Brow Lift
A traditional method involving an incision from ear to ear along the hairline. During the surgery, excess skin is removed and muscles are lifted for a long-lasting result. Indications: significant ptosis, deep forehead wrinkles, excess skin. Disadvantages: longer recovery period, scars (though hidden within the hair).
Temporal Brow Lift
This method lifts the outer corners of the eyebrows, creating a more open gaze. Incisions are made in the temple area. A temporal brow lift can be combined with other methods, and temple lipofilling is often used for additional volume.
Direct Brow Lift
An incision is made directly above the eyebrow, used for significant sagging or in patients with thick skin. While effective, a direct brow lift is rarely used in aesthetic practice due to the potential for visible scarring.
Thread Brow Lift
A non-surgical method using meso-threads for lifting.
Features:
- effect lasts 1–2 years;
- short recovery period;
- local anesthesia.
Best for: younger patients with mild ptosis or those not ready for surgery. Limitations: not suitable for significant sagging or excess skin; the effect is less durable.
These methods allow for an optimal choice for every patient — from a slight refreshment of the gaze to complex correction of age-related changes.
